Hello Roundtable folks,
The next CSREM Roundtable Alliance safety professional development meeting is Tuesday, June 12th at 10:00. This month’s speakers include Peter Harrod and Marty Leik.

Peter C. Harrod, P.E. Principal, Code Red Consultants, LLC, Fire and Life Safety Specialty Consultants will provide an enlightening two part presentation, namely, NFPA 241 Construction Fire Safety Plan Implementation and Trends with Wood Framed Buildings AND 3rd Party Fire-stopping Inspections – What Contractors Need to Know. Please see attached abstract.

Martin Leik, Regional Safety Director, Suffolk Construction Company, will speak on SmartVid by providing an overview of their photo recognition Artificial Intelligence program.

This June meeting is being sponsored and hosted by Marty Leik, Corporate Safety Manager, Suffolk Construction Company. Meeting is being held at Suffolk Headquarters, 65 Allerton Street, Boston, MA (your GPS will readily recognize this address). Please enter through the main entrance. There will be Suffolk folks to help direct us up via elevator to 2nd floor Stadium auditorium. Regarding vehicle parking, there is street parking along Allerton Street. Suffolk will also block off/make available all their visitor spots for this event. In addition, I’m sure there will be parking lot attendants providing direction where attendees can park in otherwise assigned spots just inside the black gate that surrounds the main parking lot. May’s Meeting Notice

The next CSREM Roundtable Alliance safety professional development meeting is next Tuesday, May 8th at 10:00. This month’s Topic is a presentation on OSHA Stand Downs occurring between now and June 22nd.

Speakers are Peter Barletta, CAS Braintree and Joe Green, CAS Andover OSHA Area offices within Region 1 will present OSHA Focus Four Campaign (March through June), National Falls Stand Down (May 7 through 11th) and National Emphasis Program Trenches Safety Stand-Down (the week of June 18th).

If you haven’t personally conducted a stand down and want some helpful information, attached please find 8 applicable training documents forwarded by Tim Irving, Assistant Regional Administrator/Cooperative and State Programs as supplied by his friends out in Region III.

April Meeting Announcement

Hello Roundtable folks,

The next CSREM Roundtable Alliance safety professional development meeting is Tuesday, April 10th at 10:00. This month’s Topic is a presentation on Melanoma the skin cancer. Outdoor workers are exposed to the sun for long periods of time including during the peak hours of the day when the sun is at its strongest.

Speakers are Deb Girard, Executive Director of IMPACT Melanoma and Dr. Robin Travers of IMPACT Melanoma. Together theywill present important information and statistics about skin cancer and best practices to prevent and reduce your risk. In addition, attendees will have the chance to use a UV facial scanner to help understand the damaging effects of the sun and through the use of ultra-violet rays see the underlying layer of their skin not visible to the naked eye.
