December 2022 Meeting Announcement

From Glenn:

Season Greetings Ambassador Alliance CSREM folks,

Next CSREM Ambassador Alliance safety professional development meeting is Tuesday, December 13th at 10:00. Deadline to sign up is Friday 12/09/22 by noon to Nancy. See below for RSVP information.

Our speaker is Jack Padden, managing partner, Sales Solutions Inc, Newburyport, MA 617-595-8716. Jack is presenting on two primary subjects to include:

This month’s topic(s) are revisions of the ANSI Z359.14-2021 Fall Protection Standard for SRD’s AND on ANSI Z89 vs EN 12492 standards in regards to testing and use of ANSI Type II helmets head protection.

  1. “The Revisions of the ANSI Z359.14-2021 Fall Protection Standard – Winter is coming – The What, The Why, and The How”. Jack will discuss the revisions to the ANSI Z359.14-2021 fall protection standard regarding the testing and use of self-retracting devices (SRD’s get used to this term) in the 1910 and 1926 spaces. We will discuss the differences in the current and new standard including: the changes in test methodology, classification/identification of devices, and overall use of devices in the field. Attached please find FallTech white paper on the revisions to ANSI Z359.14-2021 standard effective date of February 1, 2023.
  1. “The Evolution of Head Protection – It’s more than just an apple falling on your head that you need to worry about! Jack will discuss the various Standards (ANSI Z89 vs EN 12492) in regard to testing and use of head protection for your workers – what do these standards mean for manufacturers and the users respectively. Jack will also discuss the implications of the different types of head protection to the overall bottom line. What does the future look like?

Why are we talking about SRD’s is obvious. CSREM is examining Type II or EN12492 certified helmets at this meeting because the 5thlargest Building Contractor in the USA based out of New York, NY has sent out a Trade Partner Safety Helmet Guidance with full implementation required by January 1, 2023 that all trade partner employee’s (subcontractors), vendors and visitors will be required to wear an ANSI Type II or an EN12492 approved safety helmet at their project sites in lieu of hard hats. Both Atlantic Equipment and Sales Solutions will have equipment displays at this meeting so that all of us can touch and feel the changes being made to SRD’s and PPE helmets alike.

This December meeting is being cosponsored and co hosted by Colin C Cash, Atlantic Equipment Co Inc. and Jack Padden, Sales Solutions Inc. The meeting is being held at The Doubletree Hotel, 201 Everett Ave, Chelsea, MA . If ya get lost call Nancy on her cell phone 617-959-4414. Per usual and customary, please RSVP to Nancy Hughes of OHS Training & Consulting, nancy.hughes@ohstc.us by noon-time this Friday 12/09/22 to ensure an accurate head-count is given to the hotel for catering menu and seating arrangements.
